The Italian National Conference on Neuromuscular Disorders will be held at multiple venues around the country on March 10, 2018. Professor Antonio Frisoli of Sant’Anna School Human Robot Interaction Area will attend the conference in Pisa at Hotel San Ranieri, 9.00 am.

Participants include: Gabriele Siciliano (Clinica Neurologica dell’Azienda Ospedaliera Universitaria Pisana), Alice Donati (Unità Malattie metaboliche muscolari dell’Azienda Ospedaliera Meyer - Firenze), Michelangelo Mancuso (Clinica Neurologica - Pisa), Sigrid Baldanzi (Dipartimento di Medicina Clinica Sperimentale dell’Università - Pisa), Guja Astrea (Unità Operativa di Neurologia dello Sviluppo - Stella Maris), Chiara Carboncini (Azienda Ospedaliera Universitaria Pisana), Maria Letizia Solinas (Coordinamento nazionale associazioni malattie neuromuscolari), patient organizations and patient representatives.

The Neuromuscular Disorders Clinic at Santa Chiara Hospital (building 13) provides information and support to patients and members of the public. It is open on March 10, 2.00 pm - 5.00 pm.

The aim of the National Conference on Neuromuscular Disorders is to provide support and resolve any concerns or questions that patients, families or members of the public may raise, and to explore the development of new drug treatments. Recent qualitative studies suggested that being in a trusting relationship with patients, or being able to develop such a relationship, is particularly helpful in the context of chronic conditions in which diseases can be managed for many years.
